Not knowing what mouth-watering brief is just around the corner. That’s what I like about freelancing. Though it’s true to say, along the way, a string of top agencies helped me sharpen my nib. Thanks to them, I’m as happy crafting your Facebook post as your global TV spot, and as fluent at writing your brochure as your poster.
Women-centric projects are a particular strength, as are Financial ones, though they’re far from my only interest. At Ogilvy London, I’ve helped build one of the most famous brands in the Unilever portfolio - Dove, and its campaign for Real Beauty. I’ve headed the Merrill Lynch business at JWT, and held a senior writing role at Leo Burnett’s specialist Beauty division. Scrolling back a little further, I ran the creative department at Financial agency Hill Murray for 5 years. (Though, frankly, I always preferred the writing to the status meetings.)
Judging awards is something I relish, and D&AD kindly selected me to join their 2014 ‘Writing for Advertising’ and 2015 ‘New Blood’ panels. Not to be outdone, I picked up 6 shortlists of my own at Cannes Lions 2016, as well as 3 Silver Clios and 4 Bronze Kinsales, to add to my collection.
Wherever I’ve worked, I’ve enjoyed using words to make brands sound like themselves. But enough about me … what about you? Whatever the brief, I’m ready.
